Biography:
Liang Zhang received his BEng and PhD degree in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics from Chongqing University in 2008 and 2014, respectively. He was a visiting PhD student at Pennsylvania State University under the supervision of Prof. John M Regan from 2013 to 2014. His PhD research focused on the enhancement of proton transfer in microbial fuel cells. After graduation, Dr. Zhang made a Postdoctoral research at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Pennsylvania State University from 2014 to 2015, where he focused on electrochemical energy conversation. He started his faculty career at Chongqing University as an Assistant Professor in 2015 and promoted as a Professor in 2023. His current research interests are thermally regenerative battery (TRB) for low-grade waste heat recovery, proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE), transport phenomenon in fuel cells, microbial fuel cells (MFCs), resource recovery from waste by using electrochemical systems.
