核科学与技术重庆市一级重点学科学术带头人、重庆大学核科学与技术学科负责人。长期从事反应堆热工水力及安全分析、传热传质、两相流方面的实验、理论及数值模拟研究工作;在通道中的相态特性、相变问题的实验和理论研究、汽泡动力学、水电解制氢相关问题等方面发表了较多研究论文。分别于2013年和2004年公派美国Purdue University核工程系及University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee机械系进行访问及高级访问研究。
作为课题负责人承担了国家重点研发计划项目一项、“973”项目课题两项,国家自然科学基金项目三项以及其他类型的国家级项目近10项,与头部研究机构合作项目近50项,企业新产品开发及应用基础研究等横向项目。近年来在国内外学术刊物和国际学术会议上发表论文170余篇,其中在包括Int. J. Multiphase Flow、Int. J. of Heat and Mass Transfer、Journal of Heat Transfer- Transactions of the ASME、Nuclear Engineering and Design、Applied Thermal Engineering等在内的国际杂志发表论文近100篇,已被SCI/EI收录160余篇,获权发明专利10项。获教育部2004年科技进步奖一等奖及有色冶金工业协会科技进步奖二等奖各1项。曾任全国动力工程领域工程硕士协调组组长,全国工程硕士指导委培养质量研究组成员,空泡物理和自然循环国家级重点实验室学术委员。现为教育部核工程类教指委委员,核反应堆热工水力技术实验室学术委员,深圳市核反应堆安全重点实验室学术委员,四川省核学会常务理事、中国核学会核工程力学分会、核反应堆流体力学分会、船用核动力分会分会常务理事、微重力科学与应用研究专委会委员等,担任NURETH、ICONE、PBNC、WORTH等多个国际会议的TPC、Track主席或技术委员会委员。

1. 反应堆热工分析及安全评价
主要关注反应堆堆芯通道内的流动沸腾传热及流动问题,从事以气泡动力学为基础的相关分析和研究;基于反应堆热工程序的开发和改进,对反应堆暂态过程进行分析研究。
2. 水电解制氢过程的热质传递
主要关注水电解制氢过程中多孔扩散层中的两相流动,热点及流动所导致的材料衰减效应;双极板中的两相流动;催化层介观尺度的流-质-热-电-力多维耦合效应等。
3. 气液两相及多相流动传热与工程应用
主要从事通道内的体积界面浓度、两相流流动及传热模型的开发,针对反应堆堆芯及蒸发器流道问题,进行实验研究并开发相关的系统设计分析程序。
4. 多相流及相变问题的计算机模拟
基于商业CFD程序及团队开发的计算程序,基于汽泡动力学的研究成果,开发沸腾和流动模型,在研究团队自有的高性能计算机(HPC)上对具有工程背景的问题进行计算机模拟。
5. 热工问题中的可视化方法及测量技术
通过团队自有知识产权的电导探针和电阻抗层析成像系统,对各种通道内的两相流问题进行研究,研究体积界面浓度、界面速度及空泡尺寸等相关问题;基于高速摄像方法,对通道内的汽泡动力学问题进行研究。并开发及完善以上技术。
